I blocked everything out with drugs and alcohol and ended up in prison
Eddie Rodriguez grew up with parents who were addicted to meth, which led to removal from his home when he was 11 years old. Instability, anger, and shame, along with a lack of support, led to his own substance use and imprisonment at age 18. After 27 years in prison, he is now a peer specialist in Sacramento County, working with youth populations.
